The Text Editor is used in several locations in the Admin space, including Email Setup and the text editor widget in the Collaborate Space.
Apply the following formatting options to either highlighted text, or to all text typed after you select the function.
Emphasize with bold text. | |

Paste text from the system clipboard as plain text. This is useful when copying from applications that may contain hidden formatting which often causes unexpected behavior in an online format. After selecting this option, everything you paste into the Text Editor will be in plain text format until you click this button again to disable it. | |
Set paragraph style from a pre-defined list of options. | |

Align text with the left margin. | |
Align text centered between the left and right margins. | |
Align text with the right margin. | |
Justify, or stretch, text evenly from left to right margin. | |
Create a bullet, or unordered, list. | |

Decrease the text indent, or move it closer to the left margin. Choose to either highlight desired text and then decrease, or click this button with the cursor before the place in the text where you want to decrease the indent. | |
Increase the text indent, or move it closer to the right margin. Choose to either highlight desired text and then increase, or click this button with the cursor before the place in the text where you want to increase the indent. | |
Undo, or reverse, the previous action. Repeat this action several times to reverse several consecutive actions. When this button is grayed out, there is no available action to undo. | |
Redo the previous Undo action. When this button is grayed out, there is no available action to redo. | |
Insert a hyperlink, or edit an existing hyperlink. A separate dialog box provides the hyperlink options. | |
Remove an existing hyperlink. | |
Add or edit an existing graphic or photo. A separate dialog box provides the image options. | |
Display the HTML source code for the content in the Text Editor. You can edit the HTML and work entirely in this mode, if desired. The source code editor is somewhat self-correcting. For example, if you delete a closing tag, the editor will automatically add it back. | |
Add, edit or delete a table. Tables are useful for aligning text on the page. | |
Add a horizontal line at the current location of the cursor. To remove an existing line, place the cursor either at the beginning or end of the line, and then press the keyboard Delete key. | |
Remove all formatting from selected text. To remove only one format characteristic (for example, Bold), select that function while the text is selected. | |
Add a special character at the current location of the cursor. Special characters are non-standard letters, numbers and symbols not commonly found on keyboards. | |
Change the color of the selected text. When you select the underlined “A” part of the button, the selected text will change to the color shown on the button. Click the down arrow to choose another color. | |
Change the color that appears behind the selected text. This is useful in highlighting specific text. When you select the underlined “A” part of the button, the background of the selected text will change to the color shown on the button. Click the down arrow to choose another color. |
