This menu contains settings for the following Collaboration tools:



Field Descriptions


1- Comment


Enable: Allow users to add comments to Ideas. Using comments is strongly encouraged as it encourages collaboration and improves overall idea quality.


2-5 Star Rating


Enable: Enabling the 5-Star Voting option activates the Rate this Idea button on the Actions menu.

Edit: Users can change their 5-Star votes when this option is enabled.

Guidance: Text that helps users understand the 5-Star Voting function. When 5-Star Voting is enabled, this text is always displayed.

Mass Voting Guidance: Text that helps users understand the 5-Star Voting function within the Vote on Ideas page.


3- Bubble Up

Enable: Opens the Bubble Up option to all users who have access to the challenge.This is what users see when accessing Bubble Up: Example. 

Credit Allowance: The number of credits to allow for each user on a weekly basis. These credits are automatically renewed every Sunday.  

Guidance: Text that helps users understand the Bubble Up function. When Bubble Up is enabled, this text is always displayed, as in this example

Stats Display: When this option is enabled, the statistics related to Bubble Up voting are displayed at the top of the Bubble Up Ideas form, including: number of Ideas, cumulative credits spent, number of participants and cumulative promotes/demotes issued. 

Restricted Ideas: Sometimes Ideas are restricted to be viewed by the review team only. Enabling this option will included those restricted Ideas in the Bubble Up voting, which is not advisable since it opens those Ideas to be viewed by the entire audience. It is only recommended that this option be enabled when the challenge is only open to the review team.

Concluded Ideas: Excluding Ideas that have been concluded, or finalized, from Bubble Up allows your audience to focus on only those Ideas that are still to be discussed or evaluated.

Author Names: Display or hide Idea author names in Bubble Up voting. When names are hidden in Bubble Up, they are still shown in the full view of the Idea Form.

Update Credits Now: Overrides the weekly Sunday points allocation. The Bubble Up Credit Alert is not sent when this option is used.

Clear All Records: Removes all Bubble Up votes and resets the ranking list. This does not change users’ credit totals. It is advisable that you export Bubble Up records prior to using this option.

Export Records: Creates a CSV file containing all the Bubble Up ranking data.


4-Ask An Expert


Enable: Turns on the Ask an Expert feature so that it appears as an option on the Actions menu. Example

Default Request Instructions: The text that is displayed in the Instructions field on the Expert Review Request form. This text is created by the Innovation Central Consultant in Review Process Emails. The Reviewers can then use the default text as is, or type over it for a personalized message.

Default Request Deadline: Number of days from today in which the expert’s feedback should be submitted. This displayed on the Expert Review Request form in the date format DD MONTH YYYY.

Edit Guidance: Text to be displayed to the Expert when completing the Expert Review Request, as shown in this example (TO BE ADDED). HTML tags are permitted in this field.

Read Guidance: Text to be displayed to the readers of the submitted Expert Review.

Eligible Experts: Identifies the Expert review audience. 

  • All users: Allows all users with an Innovation Central profile to participate as Experts, even if they do not explicitly have access to the current challenge.

  • Everyone with access to the event: Expert review requests can only be sent to users granted access to the current challenge via Event Access.

5- Spotlight Ideas


Enable: Allows the review team to highlight specific Ideas to increase awareness and help engage the audience to encourage discussion. Spotlight Ideas are shown in the Collaborate Space, when enabled in the Collaborate Menu.


6-Build New Idea


Enable: When enabled, allows users to create new Ideas based on existing Ideas. Users access Build New Idea from the Actions menu within an Idea view.


Ensure you click the Submit button to save your settings.
