Consider archiving to remove content from an Innovation Central instance.  The most common timing is when a challenge has been completed, and all content is simply archived to the Warehouse module overnight.

To support a variety of scenarios, there are other archiving options.

Archiving can be scheduled to run a regular intervals.  For example, when running an on-going process improvement challenge, it can be helpful to archive every month or every quarter.  Additionally, it's possible to only archive the ideas which have been concluded.  This removes the unused content from the Collaborate Space.

In an on-going process improvement challenge, it may also be helpful to archive the content within the instance, and make the Archive Tab visible to the full audience.  People can still look through the ideas from the past, but the most recent content is front and center on the collaborate space.

Another reason to use the Archive within the instance is to keep all content visible to the audience.  Most Innovation Central teams choose to limit access to the Warehouse, as it generally contains a large amount of content and IP, some of which may be confidential.  To view the content within the Warehouse, an individual must have access to the Warehouse.
