Every Innovation Central challenge can be looked at from multiple points of view. If you’re in HR, you might want to gauge how people feel about things. If you’re from Finance, you might want to see if cost and time saving are being addressed. If you’re the sponsor, you will want to see your challenge from all angles to find non-obvious pockets of knowledge and expertise.

Content Radar presents radar graphics that summarize your challenge from different points of view: SWOT analysis, emotional content, business topics — all customizable. It’s a quick way to gauge the content and sense of what participants are saying. Perhaps more importantly it shows what people are not talking about: in the left example below, a SWOT analysis, everyone’s talking about opportunities and strengths, which might be fine or might indicate an avoidance of weaknesses. Similarly, a business topic analysis (below right) shows a lot of ideas about partnerships but almost nothing about the competition, suggesting a blind spot — just the kind of thing to be addressed in a future challenge!

All four sets of topics are editable. Simply use the settings icon as shown in the image to your left to access the topic you’d like to change.

The example below shows topics and keywords about fuel and petrochemicals. Internal project names or product and competitors’ product names make good keywords that show how people are discussing — or ignoring — particular topics.

Content Radar & Trends also shows the trend-over-time for all sets of categories. These trends are helpful to understand the important topics over time and to stay on track with key strategic issues.
