Review Recommendations Drive Discussion

Review Recommendations communicate the opinion and recommendation of an individual reviewer. An idea can have several Reviewers, and each Reviewer can submit only one Review. This process is only visible to those with the appropriate Special Roles. This is so the review team can have candid discussion & opinion, without risk of alienating anyone or squelching creativity.

Typically, there are three types of Review Recommendations:

  • Positive Review Recommendations such as “Recommended as Top Concept” or “High Potential”. These Reviews indicate the opinion is to move the idea forward in some way.
  • Neutral Review Recommendations such as “Needs Further Development” These Reviews indicate the idea isn’t ready to move forward, but there is something intriguing or interesting that should be explored or developed.
  • Negative Review Recommendations such as “No Further Consideration” or “Already in Progress”. These Reviews indicate the idea was not suited for the Challenge and should not be selected.

Creating and Using Review Recommendations

By clicking on “Priority 1 Big Impact” the Review Recommendation is opened for editing. This is a positive review (the idea is recommended to move forward). Full and short names are simply field labels shown when either editing or reading Reviews within Innovation Central.

The Guidance is visible to those completing the Review, so they can be certain the Review they’re choosing is accurate for each idea. The guidance is shown when Reviewing a single idea or using My Review Worklist like this:

or in the Mass Conclusion functionality when the person concluding ideas chooses.
